Serverless enables a developer to set event triggers and leave the infrastructure requirements completely to the cloud provider. The vendor delivers exactly the right amount of compute, storage and memory. Andfor a change the developer doesn’t even have to bother about it or code for it. =
That sounds ideal on its face, but as with every new technology, for each solution there is a set of new problems and those issues tend to represent openings for enterprising entrepreneurs.
The new technology offers big opportunities in the coming years for companies building security, tooling, libraries, APIs, monitoring and a whole host of tools serverless will likely require as it evolves.
In the physical servers, there was lots of wasted capacity. That led to the development of virtual machines, which enabled IT to take a single physical server and divide it into multiple virtual ones. While that was a huge breakthrough for its time, helped launch successful companies like VMware and paved the way for cloud computing, it was the only beginning.
All of the major vendors have launched serverless products with AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions and Microsoft Azure Functions all offering a similar approach. But it has the potential to be more than just another way to code. It could eventually shift the way we think about programming and its relation to the underlying infrastructure altogether.
Companies are already serverless computing to find new ways of solving problems. Cloud is the answer to many a present as well as future questions,

Sony is taking a different approach as it introduced its Xperia XA2 Plus, a phone “designed to entertain.” Incidentally the USP of entertainment is not well defined anywhere as of now. However XA2 plus shall be with
Going by the XA1 Plus pricing, the XA2 should be in the $400 bracket.
This phone seems good for streaming. Looks like Sony is trying to make upgrades to this phone line with slight display tweaks (last year’s XA1 Plus included a 5.5-inch display versus 6-inch) and a better processor with the option for more RAM and storage. Hopefully XA2 should be better than its predecessor.
]]>This is the zombie conspiracy which no one ever seems to be able to kill over whether our phones are secretly listening to us to know which ads to present to us. This is the same conspiracy Facebook CEO Zuckerberg admitted have adapted.
The study looked at 17,260 Android apps and specifically paid attention to the media proved “The researchers found no instance in which these apps turned on the phone’s microphone unprompted and sent audio. But they did find that some apps were sending screen recordings and screenshots to third parties.”
Or — we’re all worried about the wrong kind of spying. No it is real. It is s the same with the recent headline about third parties reading your Gmail; Cambridge Analytica; and so many others.
For example junk food delivery app GoPuff, which the site describes as monitoring user interactions with the app and sending them to a mobile analytics company called Appsee.
That’s the way it goes with everything, not just tech, right? Money talks, and the other stuff walks.
The researchers concluded on the eavesdropping “Our study reveals several alarming privacy risks in the Android app ecosystem, including apps that over-provision their media permissions and apps that share image and video data with other parties in unexpected ways, without user knowledge or consent. We also identify a previously unreported privacy risk that arises from third party libraries that record and upload screenshots and videos of the screen without informing the user. This can occur without needing any permission from the user.”

In other words, it’s a 2.0 version of SMS, where features seen inside messaging apps will be available via text, such as the ability to create rich group chats, see typing indicators and read receipts, share high-res photos and videos and more.
Google is beginning to roll out desktop browser support for Android Messages, allowing people to use their PC for sending messages and viewing those that have been received on their Android smartphone. To get started, the Android Messages website has you scan a QR code using the Android Messages mobile app, which creates a link between the two.
A highly anticipated and top-requested feature, ‘Messages for web’ will be available soon, which is similar to iOS, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and others already provide. To get started, users must open ‘Messages for web’ in Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge (not available on Internet Explorer) and, using their smartphone, scan the QR code.
Now on the left hand side of the Android Messages compose bar is a + button that will open up a search for that perfect representation.
Google launches dedicated podcast app for Android Google hasn’t had a direct answer to Apple’s dedicated Podcasts app. You’ve had to either listen in Google Play Music or use a not-well-publicized player built into Android’s search feature.
You’re on the go when somebody texts you “where are you?” and instead of wasting time typing up a response, there will now be the option to tap potentially fitting replies like ‘Be there soon’ or ‘On my way!’.
The name says it all. Links that are received will now appear much like they do in the Facebook or Twitter news feed, with a picture, headline and first sentence.
This feature now allows that password to be copied and pasted directly.

This is not all that surprising; given that one of the only types of mobile household robot that has achieved widespread adoption. Roomba-style autonomous vacuum cleaners—tend to choke to death as soon as they encounter an obstacle. Better ones are in development, but it’s not clear how well they work outside of demonstration conditions.
Generally, the care-taking part is going to take a bit more time for people to be comfortable with.
But the public does expect attitudes to change towards robots as they become more generally useful and move past their uncanny valley phase. 19 percent told they believed it was “very likely” that in 30 years, robots will be able to “perform most of the activities currently done by humans,” while 33 percent said it was “somewhat likely.” Just 23 percent said it was not very likely. 61 percent of people also said they were not “worried” in the long run about robots, suggesting that maybe their level of discomfort is associated with current models rather than future ones.
Automation is already displacing human labour at a concerning rate particularly in sectors like manufacturing. Other jobs that can be replaced with computers like medical records technicians to loan officers. But when it comes to the home, most people seem fine doing their own dishes for a computer
]]>Present iPhone X is limited to Space Gray and Silver. At least two of the new iPhone models in the 2018 line-up will be available in additional colours.
The second-generation iPhone X will be available in Black, White, and Gold, while the 6.1-inch model is said to come in a wide array of colours, including red, blue, orange, grey, and white. An excerpt from the note follows.
Apple expect the demands for the new 6.5″ OLED iPhone will be better than iPhone X because of similar or lower price but with larger display, dual-sim dual-standby (DSDS), and three possible casing colours (black, white, and gold).
The new 6.1″ LCD iPhone is expected to boost better-replacement demands than iPhone 8/8s did due to being equipped with full-screen, Face ID, selling price lower than $700 USD, DSDS and five possible casing colours (grey, white, blue, red, and orange).
It’s reasonable to assume that Apple has figured out how to mass produce the iPhone X in gold, so there is little reason to doubt this rumor.
